Spotlight: Dylan Reilly Delisle

Hi All

It's a great day to share with you the work of someone I find highly talented. It is with great enthusiasm I present a few poems by Dylan Reilly Delisle.

I ran across Dylan's poetry a few months ago and was immediately impressed with his unique writing style. His poems are often brief - yet full of power and meaning. Like many other of my favorite poets, he keeps poetry interesting and reading his work is always a pleasure.

Dylan in his own words:

My name is Dylan Reilly Delisle and I’m a 23 year old Poet born in California! My many interests range from astrology to politics and just about anything in between. The three poems here were all freshly written by me for this post. “Luna” is a haiku about our beautiful moon. "The Cave" is about a powerful figure in a home that is toxic to the situation in some way and refuses to change. "Amber Sap" is about my one, my love and her beautiful amber eyes with just a hint of green - it’s also quite a bit more sappy than I usually like to write.

I hope you will join me in taking a look at Dylan's poems. I'm confident you'll love them as much as I do! ______________

Your silver light shines Ephemeral and divine You aren’t here for long ______________

The Cave

Trapped within your cave Naked and afraid Powerless, you knave Look at what you made All the love you gave Corrosive acid cascade

Look at what you made Your home is just a cave ______________

Amber Sap

Eyes like amber shine Bright light reflecting from the sun Dirty diamonds with a rusty luster Your brown eyes they just muster, Something in me like fantasy I love when they get close to me I love you like I can’t believe
