Spotlight: Trisha McCourt
Hi All
It's a wonderful day to shine the spotlight on someone I find highly talented. Today, it is an honor to share with you the poetry of Trisha McCourt!
I first began reading Trisha's work over a year ago. I was immediately impressed and have followed her poetry since. Her poems have been featured in several publications, to include my first anthology, "Spotlight".
In addition to being an outstanding writer, Trisha is an amazing person and a treasured friend. She's awesome - all-around - and I'm very happy to have her (and her poetry) in my life.
Here is Trisha in her own words:
Writing is soul catharsis. My furry soulmate, Godfrey, is doggo therapy for my heart, soul, and mind. Words are like a candy addiction (chocolate of course). I write because my voice hides behind my shyness.
Here are two poems written by Trisha McCourt - and I know you'll love them as much as I do! ______________
Soul Sounds
Is it all just hype The mystical sounds From tubes of pipe
Soothes a soul Ethereal notes Make one whole
No beating of a drum A waterfall of harmony Brought on by windy hums
Delicate melody of comfort Played by nature With a metal support
Take a breath Deeply, to relax Block out the rest
Follow the soul’s lead Immerse the self-complete Partake in this personal need
Savor the sound Soul music All around ____
Digger Diggin'
Surfing echoes For sounds no longer heard Happy giggles Gone but remembered
Sifting through mountains Yesterday's trash Disposable mementos Mile markers for a different path
Sorting bones a plenty Remnants of broken dreams Finding a preserved rose Disintegrating with a simple breath
Moments dusty on a back shelf Following clues Spectral remains in gothic fog Ever searching for leftovers
A backyard archeologist Looking for the ultimate find What was once lost To find my soul And begin living life again.
