You’re in the ocean water and you call my name from several feet away
You’re having fun and don’t need saving
How absolutely delighted I am you will likely not die today
And you are not drowning, but waving
I’m sitting in a beach chair drinking gas-station wine we bought on the way
We’re at the beach and I’m a bit drunk
It’s a grand ol’ day – you could say it was gay
I’m in a Speedo, while you’re in your trunks
We are spending our vacation time together and having fun
Playing at the beach, eating out – with a bit of misbehaving
How wonderful it is you did not perish today beneath the summer sun
And you were not drowning, but waving
